Ronald M. Ferdman, MD

Dr. Ferdman joined CHLA in 1987, completing his internship, residency and a fellowship in Clinical Immunology and Allergy at the hospital before receiving his clinical appointment in 1994. He has served in numerous capacities over the years, mostly recently as Chair of the CHLA Medical Staff. His major research focuses on treatment of severe childhood asthma and other allergic diseases; resident medical education; food and drug allergy and anaphylaxis; and primary immunodeficiency. He has delivered hundreds of lectures and authored and contributed to more than 100 articles, editorials, abstracts and other publications.
Dr. Ferdman earned a medical degree from Hahnemann (Drexel) University in Philadelphia, a master's in medical education from USC and his bachelor's degree from UC San Diego. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics; the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology; and American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and is active in many international, national and local health organizations.
