From exploring the clinical manifestations of acute encephalitis and Kawasaki’s disease to preventing hospital-borne infections, Dr. Ross is dedicated to improving infection control standards. He served on Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) Hospital Infection Control Committee for 20 years and has been a part of CHLA’s outreach team in Mongolia for 15 years. Dr. Ross was instrumental in establishing a Mongolian pediatric residency program and curriculum and worked tirelessly to improve educational standards for physicians and improve pediatric care. In recognition of his work, Dr. Ross was honored by the Republic of Mongolia with a Silk Route Award for service to the children of Mongolia.

Dr. Ross is passionate about educating the next generation of physicians. He served as both the Intern-Residency Program Coordinator and the program director for the Fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at CHLA and received numerous awards for his teaching efforts.

Dr. Ross is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the American Society for Microbiology, the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America.
